The Addiction News Network is constantly updated, searching for, and bringing you, news, articles, stories and commentary on addiction.

Addiction is much more than stereotype. Its impact affects millions of people, and costs millions of dollars, each and every day. No one- not Presidents, not the wealthy…no one is immune. Whether it’s smoking marijuana in the weekends to speed-balling heroin and cocaine in downtown alleys, addiction is broad, expansive and filled with gray areas.

Unfortunately the men and women who have been elected to save us; from others and from ourselves; seem, as a  majority, to address addiction as it were a personal crusade. There is nothing wrong with their passion, it’s the almost arrogant ignorance of science that keeps addiction, especially options for treatment, hidden from the masses…the very people who need that information most.

Our goal at Addiction News Network is to show and tell all angles of addiction, its impact, cost, treatment options and prevention strategies, research, and last but not least, Real Life.

Addiction has an awfully big price tag attached to it, and the costs continue to rise even as the payments continue to trickle down. As less and less monies are allocated to helping the ones without, the treatment of addiction could become worse than the health care imbalance and worse…much worse.

These issues, and so many more, will be searched for, written about, and published. Addiction News Network is also a forum for your opinion-good, bad, or indifferent- on any subject or topic posted. Your submissions are always welcome, though editorial decision-making remains the job of the publishers.

Addiction. Not that long ago they said it affected one in five…then one in three… Today there is no doubt that addiction affects us all; our families, our neighborhoods, our future. At the very least we need to have a basic understanding of what it is, what it does, and what comes next,
