174129686_904f58acd1_m Women: Greater Chance at Alcoholism Due To Gene DifferenceA study carried out by the Universities of Bonn and Sweden’s Karolinska Institute concluded that a specific gene variant may cause women to be more susceptible to alcoholism.  The gene, located in the endorphin metabolism, is altered more often in women alcoholics than in non-alcoholic women. The endorphins seem to play an important role in the amount of alcohol consumed in mice as well, particularly among females.

Government Says Depressed Teenagers Making Themselves Worse With Marijuana

A new White House report says that many American teenagers who are depressed and use marijuana to alleviate their condition are more likely to make it worse and even risk developing more serious mental health problems such as schizophrenia, anxiety, and even suicide.
